• Collagen is a general term for a class of biological high-molecular-weight proteins.
• It is one of the main components of animal connective tissue and the most abundant and widely distributed functional protein in mammals, accounting for 25% to 30% of total protein content.
• Collagen is the hydrolyzate of collagen and contains a large amount of glycine, hydroxyproline, and hydroxylysine, which are known as natural moisturizing factors.
• Collagen is widely used in the cosmetics industry, especially type I and type III collagen. Type I collagen is coarse and solid, providing support for skin firmness, while type III collagen is fine and has good elasticity, playing an important role in skin elasticity and scar healing.
